Just
as each family has special traditions for the Christmas season,
Lakeshore Chorale has a tradition of Lessons and Carols, their
signature concert, an afternoon of Biblical readings and traditional
carols. Friends of the Chorale share their talents as readers,
audience members join on some familiar carols, Lakeshore Youth Chorale
offers several poignant Christmas pieces, and everyone can enjoy a
post-concert reception of Christmas cookies and punch, which is also
becoming a welcome tradition!

A
portion of George F. Handel’s legacy is certainly his beloved Messiah.
Often sung at Christmas time, the oratorio was originally performed
soon after Easter. Parts two and three of this Eastertide masterpiece,
which speak of Christ’s passion, death, resurrection, and triumphant
reign, will be conducted by Wayne Wildman. This prelude to the Easter
season features a chamber orchestra and Lakeshore Chorale soloists.
Following the performance, the audience is invited to "For
Discriminating Tastes," a lavish Silver
Tea in honor of our 25th Anniversary.

Lakeshore
Youth Chorale not only connects young people of the community with
quality choral literature, but during the teaching of notes and
rhythms, connects them with the enjoyment and enrichment that music
can bring to their lives. The Youth Chorale continues the legacy of
fine choral music begun by the Lakeshore Chorale. This exuberant,
youthful concert features music of many generations of composers and
musicians, as well as folk music from some of our ancestral homes. The
afternoon concludes with a light reception in the gathering area.
